I agree you definitely wouldn't want to get R rated nor become a troll. This is something to only do every now and again. Credibility can't be bought, and even when it can it only lasts so long. If I had a humor site like yours then I'd just keep being funny. Comical controversy is fantastic. Just look at Ralphie May with his 'Just be correct' bit. I was in stitches the first time I saw that and how many minorities does he lash out at? In fact he got into the midgets too. Bookmark your best posts and see if you can get some retweeters. I think your site and content is pretty good, you just need to get out there and promote it. Have you tried Entrecard? Could be just what you need.

First off - great site.
Interesting idea and makes sense. Many stories you read about bloggers who "blow up" or get famous it's because they are edgy or have a niche. If your like the many bloggers out there who blog about internet and technology - your method makes sense as long as it's not trolling. WOndering what your take is on humor blogs or blogs that promote a small business. For a humor blog, you can only take it so far or you lose advertising. You can be controversial or R rated but then you remove advertising and its purely grass roots marketing if so. I've found out the sercet to 500 per day is pure "pimping" out the site to the many social networking sites and the like. WOuld love to hear ideas on getting more traffic and especially advertising for a site like mine. We seem to be doing great after 5 monhts (300% each month) but not sure what the best steps to get paid advertising on a site - how many hits per day to you need to get paid ads?

Yes that's true. It was like the 'in thing to do' for a while there. It still works but as I said it's pointless, because its obvious, if you do it just for the sake of it and your arguments have no merit. It should only be done on big issues that you have a genuine passion for.

I remember in early 2008 when controversy was what everyone wanted on their blogs. Just call out a well known blogger back then and you're golden!
