Not sure I agree about it being a concept. I was more trying to draw a comparison between toolbar page rank and algorithm page rank. Two very different beasts. In my view (and many others who are experts in the SEO field) chasing page rank as displayed on the Google toolbar is a pretty pointless activity and a useless metric. However, as unfortunate and misguided as it is, advertisers do still tend to give consideration to toolbar page rank to determine the quality and price point of advertising on any site.

Pagerank is really a concept more than an actual ranking. Whether pagerank exists or not, you still will rank higher or lower depending on many of the same points that makes up what pagerank is.

Mike there has already been a move away from the toolbar from an SEO standpoint. But in terms of advertising I'd agree that PR will be around for a while.

Agree with Mike. It depends upon their basis of their site. But i think PR site is very helpful when it comes to marketing.

Everyone bases their sites on PR, so it's highly difficult to ever move away from PR.

I admit I have a tendency to ignore spam and feeder sites (drop domains) and so the post was directed at people like you and I who actually put in a lot of effort and monetize with advertising in each of its forms.

I agree though, I also keep an eye on PR but purely for valuation of advertising space rather than for some SEO purpose.

when it comes to buying ads, I think they can be one of the factors for me to purchase ads. However, i don't rely on pagerank that much as some high page rank sites can be drop domains. So, the site has no value regards to readers and content. The owner these sites usually aims to sell as much ads as possible until the PR is droped in the nex update.

Regards to my blogs page rank, I would be lying if I say I don't care. I think it shows that some quality sites are linking to you. So, yes I think it is fairly important for myself reassurance.

Good Day :)
